Halkirk is situated on the B874, 5 miles south of Thurso, and 15 miles north-west of Wick, offering easy access to the A9 trunk road which takes you south to Inverness and beyond.

Halkirk is situated on the North Highland Line, with stations nearby at Georgemas Junction, Scotscalder and Thurso.
